DMG Mori Seiki offers its CELOS control to simplify and accelerate the manufacturing process with a smartphone-like design. The control provides a common operator interface with multi-touch functionality with a 21.5" Ergoline control panel, and can be equipped with various apps to manage, document and visualize manufacturing data. Currently, 12 CELOS apps are available, including the “status monitor,” “job manager,” “job assistant” and “control” apps.
The “status monitor” app displays up-to-date monitoring of the machine and process, supplies key performance indicators for the current order and order progress, and notifies the operator with icons and text messages of errors or upcoming required maintenance.
According to the company, production-related data for the NC program, workpiece, tools and clamping devices can be combined to form a machining job and visualize it instantly with the “job manager” app. All documents and data required for an order can be managed in a structured way and quickly accessed during later processing or obtained from a repeat order.
The “job assistant” app enables systematical processing digitally repaired orders. The function checks the availability of all NC programs and equipment required for machining. Then, the operator is guided through the setup process via dialog.
The “control” app enables the user to switch to the usual control environment of the CNC by tapping the appropriate icon. This app is available with controls from Siemens with Operate 4.5 on Sinumerik 840D solutionline and Mitsubishi with Mapps V.
According to DMG Mori Seiki, CELOS is scalable for various company sizes, ranging from small companies with high levels of operator responsibility to large, widely networked companies. Access rights can be organized via the customizable Smartkey that each employee uses to log in. The control will be offered on new DMG Mori Seiki machines. It is compatible with PPS and ERP systems and can be linked with CAD/CAM software. |
